While it is true that we have been internationally recognized for our leisure offering, for some years now we have been positioning ourselves as a favourite destination for sports competitions.

2023: a revealing year
Last year we discovered together the Multi-sport World Championship: one week complete dedicated to new and classic triathlon modalities.
It is precisely here where the spotlight begins to turn towards our little white island as an option that is not only viable, but fantastic for organizing sporting events.
And no wonder! Between this competition and the PTO European Tour, about 3,000 athletes gathered on the island in the same week, with the fans and the media and economic impact that this entails.
Both left participants and spectators with a good taste in their mouths, so for 2024 they will improve their brands again.
Ibiza Multisport Triathlon World Championship
Although it is a test that has been repeated for several years, there is still no official news about it.
The Spanish Triathlon Federation has recently confirmed that the Spanish Cup in Ibiza will be the only Medium and Long Distance competition to be held on the island this year.
We can assume that, despite having made a difference in terms of participation, and being the first European competition to achieve Zero Waste certification, this year you will have to participate in other sporting events during the months of April and May.
Maybe it's a good opportunity to expand your horizons.
Competition weekend
On September 28 and 29, 2024, amateur and professional athletes will meet again in Ibiza in two of the most important triathlon competitions at the international and national level.
The PTO European Open
Due to last year's success, the triathlon event with the most audience in the world once again chooses us as the venue for its 2024 edition.
Although the PTO European 2024 title is in dispute, the points obtained are important for participants in the annual PTO circuit, so several internationally recognized athletes are expected to make an appearance as well.
Thanks to the involvement of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, and the coordination of the Sports and Tourism Promotion departments of the Consell d'Eivissa we can enjoy this high-level competition for another year.
The Campeonato de españa de media distancia
Together with the PTO European Open, one of the best national triathlons will be held, with almost €30,000 in financial prizes distributed between the individual elite and the clubs.
2000 meters of swimming, 80km of cycling and 18km of running will separate you from the finish line: 100km in total.
The categories will be Elite for professionals, and Age Groups for amateurs and hobbyists.
